The Livestock Assistant Diploma (LAD) at GIMS is a professional 2-year undergraduate diploma program designed to produce highly skilled livestock assistants, veterinary technicians, and extension workers capable of supporting the dairy, poultry, and animal husbandry sectors in Pakistan. As the livestock and veterinary industries expand, this program bridges foundational veterinary sciences, animal care, feed nutrition, and extension education to prepare competent personnel for sustainable animal farm management.
Our curriculum covers key subject areas such as animal anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, poultry production, and theriogenology alongside practical field rotations and farm internships. Supported by modern farm equipment, specialized diagnostics lab settings, and a dedicated 10-credit hour practical Internship in both the 2nd and 4th semesters, GIMS graduates are fully prepared to excel as veterinary technicians, poultry supervisors, artificial insemination technicians, and livestock extension workers.

A candidate holding an Intermediate Science Certificate (Pre-Medical), F.Sc. or an equivalent certificate (certified by IBCC) from a recognized board/institution with at least 45% marks (excluding 20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran) shall be eligible for admission to the Livestock Assistant Diploma program. Admission is strictly on an open merit basis based on marks obtained in the last degree.
Age Limit: A candidate must not be more than 23 years of age on the month of admission, provided that the Vice Chancellor may relax the age limit in very exceptional cases.
