Students of Department of Mathematics went to study trip in Islamabad on December 7, 2018. They visited the International Islamic University and National Institute of Vacuum Science and Technology. In the first half of the day they visited IIUI where Prof. Dr Muhammad Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, IIUI welcomed the students and stressed upon improvement in higher education. He said that this is the age of knowledge economy and no nation can excel in this particular field unless it prioritizes higher education. Prof. Dr Masoom elaborated the role of the university in nation building, inculcating Islamic values and imparting contemporary knowledge. She explained the research and development projects to students in which the Department of Mathematics of IIUI is working. The students were also briefed by the male and female heads of departments of mathematics of IIUI, while Dr Tariq Javed, students’ advisor male also joined the briefing.

The student Delegation visited NINVAST in the second half of the day, on arrival at NINVAS, Mr Syed Tahir Hassan Hashmi -Director General NINVAS welcomed the student and briefed the student about a research project at NINVAS. Ms Ayesha Usman- Senior Scientific Officer and Mr Muhammad Nauman briefed GIMS students and Faculty on a various research project and department of working and emplacing great emphasis on quality research. They stressed upon the importance of Vacuum science and mathematics. During this session students learned that future developments are dependent on computer science and mathematics and will make new revaluations.
